| Super Frizzed out hair ! From: Jen 10/15/2004 I have long, thick naturally curly brown hair. Without straightening it, it's about halfway down my back. I was growing it out to donate to the Locks of Love center (as a promise to my mom) after i look for hair salons. but now I'm afraid a short cut won't be flattering for me. I'm afraid my hair will be super frizzy or too thick to pull it off. And I'm a little wary of relaxing or permanently straightening my hair because I've heard those products damage hair and the curls never come back the same...SO I was checking out your website and I really like your past work, and now I'm wondering if you would be able to cut my hair and what sort of style do you think would work best for me. I would like something that would look nice both curly and straight (for when i have the time to straighten it.) I have been to lots of hair salons but never the right one. Thank you for your help. If you think you have a cute hair idea, I would love to make an appointment with you ASAP. I've grown tired of how long my hair is now... Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you! | in Los Angeles Oct. 29-30 From: Melissa 10/15/2004 I will be in the LA area Oct 29-30. I have shoulder length hair that a needs a little change. Plus I would like some blonde highlights in my bangs. My natural hair color is brown. I have been highlighting my hair since I was a teenager. I used to highlight my hair on my own but had to stop 14 years ago because my hair would turn reddish. I haven't been able to find someone to do my highlights correctly since several years. My dark bangs make my face look paler vs brighter with highlights. Can you help me? Do you have any open appointments those two days? What would be the cost for your services? thanks so much and hope to talk to you, Mellissa. I can't fit you in those days but I will see if someone else can in my salon - Lance Christopher Comment on this posting. |

| Looking for hairstyist for more Mature Women From: Samantha 10/14/2004 Normally I would never post a blog comments on a new hair dresser that I found on the internet, however I have been doing some research on hairstylists in Los Angeles and was particularly impressed with what you wrote about on the site http://losangeleshairstudio.com about you really paying attention and spending time with a client to understand their best features, skin tones to come up with a style / haircut that will be the best style for them. I would like to know if anyone else can recommend Lance for more mature women. Please post if you fit in that category and have tried Lance out. With that said I am writing to you because I am giving a gift to my mother who wants a sort of "style" makeover (for her hair) and since she lives in a really small town she doesn't have access to the quality that a place like Los Angeles offers. My concern or rather interest was in finding someone that maybe specializes in the more mature woman or someone that feels confident working on that kind of hair. My mom is over 60 and has pretty much white hair. It is a pretty color and proabably about shoulder length, however over time has had some damage and doesn't have much style. I would think that color would not be an option because she would have a hard time keeping it up (she can't really afford it) so I was thinking that a really good new style / cut could really help her style. My mother has done so much for me raising me on her own and I have never really been able to "give back" in a monetary way so now that I am on my own I would like to spend some money on her and do something really nice for her. I want her to feel beautiful and stylish. Any insight you can provide is much appreciated as she is coming out to visit over the Thanksgiving holidays and I would really like to surprise her with this ! Sincerely - Samantha Comment on this posting. |
| sos colored hair myself From: To embarassed to say 10/10/2004 I colored my hair myself and ended up with a color between burgundy and red, it's awful. I am 47 with medium length thick wavy hair that is pretty indestructible, but this color is too much. I need to fix it this week as I am going to an important event out of town on Friday. Someone please post a replya asap for a recommendations for a hairdresser at Lance Christopher Salon. I prefer to here from the public rather that the salon so i make a good choice when I am at the salon. To embarrassed to say Comment on this posting. |

| Lance is great at getting highlights close to the roots of the hair From: Jen 10/8/2004 it's Jen who was there this evening. I wanted to say thanks and that I can't believe how close you got to the roots...amazing. Overall I am very pleased but I have one problem due to this being crazy Los Angeles. It looked pretty good in most parts but I was not to worried and wanted to see it in the sun tomorrow. I stopped off to get script revisions tonight at the directors house for the film I'm in the middle of doing and he immediately commented on my hair and freaked saying that it is way darker and will completely through off the continuity of the film. We shoot again on Monday in Los angeles and he told me I better do something about it. (sigh) I am so exhausted thinking about hair...I don't know how you do it every day. The bangs were cut really good and fall nice I could not ask for any better. it seems I just need to lighten it up a bit, I guess I should ask my agent and managers before I do anything to my hair in the future. You did warn me though to listen to the people who get your work in Hollywood.. The comedy central pilot I start in 2 weeks (i'm a series regular) and one skit I'm cast in is as one of the blonde hair girls (a sketch on bond girls)so if this guy is freaking I am a bit concerned about them. Whatever I need to do I'll have to do regardless of cost blah blah blah. :( I knew you had blog and thought I would post (since you asked me) but I'll call you tomorrow...if you see this give me a call Jen Comment on this posting. |
